Pencil drawing. A 15c Man at Arms kneels to resign himself to his fate after being
struck at close range by an arrow. The arrow has passed through his layered armour
including his brigandine. The shaft represents one made of ash with a 12" diameter
at the socket and tapered down to 3/8" at the knock. These arrows shot from what
is now often referred to as the Warbow weighed as much as a quarter of a pound.
